"The Majestics, Vol. 1" is the first of two volumes, featuring a funky rendition of some of the instrumental R&B style that had been popular during their era. Formed in the early 1960s as Jay Smith and The Majestics, Smith shared lead vocals with Shawne Jackson (ex of The Silhouettes), and they soon became one of the leading big band groups around the Toronto area.
