Formed in 1981 in Cincinnati, Ohio. The line up originally consisted of Kenny “Babyface” Edmonds, Antonio “L.A.” Reid, Carlos “Satin” Greene, Darnell “Dee” Bristol, Stanley “Stick” Burke and Kevin “Kayo” Roberson. Their debut album Street Beat saw the group’s first big hit Body Talk, released in January 1984 which peaked at #3 on the US R&B chart. Even though their follow up album Material Thangz was unsuccessful, the group reached their peak in 1987 with Eyes of a Stranger. It spawned the mega hit Two Occasions. Released as a single on December 23, 1987, It is considered a great quiet storm classic. It peaked at #10 on the Billboard Hot 100.
