Initially a romantic singer influenced by Charles Trenet, Raymond Levesque learned his trade in Parisian clubs (1954-59) before joining the Bozos, one of Quebec's first "chansonniers" groups. A talented storyteller and polemicist, he enjoyed great success in "boîtes à chansons", notably at "La Butte À Mathieu" where he wrote more than a dozen shows in the 1960s.
